| Cynthia graduated from Queensland College of Art in 1979. She began her career in art as an illustrator for the University of Queensland Press. She has lectured at the University of Tasmania's School of Art, and served as an exhibition designer for the Queensland Museum. She began a full time career as an artist in 1991.
