Piero Dorazio, Italian (1927 - 2005)
Piero Dorazio
was born in Rome, Italy in 1927. He studied at the University of Rome, and at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. in 1947, Piero Dorazio co-founded Forma 1, a group of Italian abstract artists. In 1955, he published La Fantasia Dell-Arte Nella Vita Moderna, one of the first books on international modern art in Italy. Piero Dorazio taught at Harvard University, and in 1960, he was appointed the Director of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania. Piero Dorazio died in Perugia, Italy in 2005.
