Victor Hasch, Swiss born French citizen (1945 – 2012)

Victor Hasch was born on September 1, 1945, in Geneva Switzerland. He died in France in 2012.

Victor studied art at Cours Simon in Paris, France. He was an excellent colorist. The palette of a Victor Hasch painting is lively; he was not one to muddy and mute the paint. His method of painting was to create veils of color. Using a palette knife, he would lay colors on a canvas and scrape down to reveal images of tremendous depth and velocity. Each painting is a sensational jeweled collage.

I lived a Bohemian way of life until I started to paint seriously. I got inspired by the other artists. Until then I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do.
