William Daniell, British (1769 – 1837)

William Daniell was born in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, England. When William was ten years old his father died and he was sent to live with his uncle, professional landscape artist, Thomas Daniell. In 1984, Thomas and William Daniell embarked on a journey to India with the intent to create a series of landscape paintings which were to be published in print form. The artistic venture was the first of many successful travels to exotic lands where the Daniell’s produced finely detailed paintings and sketches.

William Daniell became a Royal Academician in 1822. During his lifetime he exhibited in London, England with the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and the British Institution for Promoting the Fine Arts.
